Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. The father of the child, Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident right from the day she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished third in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix completed her high school graduation and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 secs. She was the youngest participant in the 200 meters in the world championships in Helsinki in 2005. She won her medal the following year, defeating time-tested Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix always placed in the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
